The Kindred Commune was borne out of a sense of loneliness and a desire to create a community. Throughout my twenties, I've lived and worked in big cities, and although I was always surrounded by people, I couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness caused by a lack of meaningful connection. I know that I'm not alone in feeling this way and craving deeper conversations; because of that, I wanted to create a space where like-minded people could come together and discuss issues that were important to them, that go beyond the superficial small talk. I wanted to create a community of people who are self-motivated that want to learn more, do more, and be more.
Through the Kindred Commune, I hope to discuss topics that are commonly swept under the rug and share the raw, honest and real stories that people are often afraid to tell because I believe that it is only through sharing our raw and honest truths can we truly create a community that supports each other and helps each other grow.
I am really excited to be launching this space and the hope is that this space will exceed more than just a page on the Internet so that we can really help to build intentional community that extends to the physical world. If there was one thing that the P taught us, it is that physical connection and interaction is irreplaceable. No amount of zoom-ing will be able to replace our need for physical connection.
What You Can Expect
On this website, I will be sharing a variety of content that will include stories of successes and setbacks, opinion pieces, discussions of wellness and productivity trends, and reviews on books and literature. Anything that can spark a meaningful conversation and encourage self-improvement. Feel free to leave a comment below as well on what you'd like to see from this website and community as well!
Beyond that, I'll also be looking to organise in-person events as well. For starters, I will be hosting intimate supper club sessions with featured speakers to spark conversation on meaningful topics, monthly book clubs and many other engaging events.
